Take the guesswork out of planning and managing your Professional Growth Cycle across the year.

The Professional Growth Cycle (PGC) Annual Plan provides a clear, practical January–November roadmap for ECE services. It sets out what needs to happen, when it should happen, and the roles of the Centre Manager/Team Leader, Mentor and Mentee/Kaiako at each stage of the cycle.

The plan supports services to connect their Professional Growth Cycle with a service-wide internal evaluation and improvement focus, while enabling each kaiako to develop an inquiry goal relevant to their own practice.

The annual plan guides your team through:

• engaging with research and professional learning
• reflective and coaching conversations
• planning and trialling changes to teaching practice
• observation, feedback and feedforward
• sharing professional learning as a team
• embedding and refining changes to practice

• completing the Annual Teaching Standards Assessment and end-of-year review

Each stage identifies the relevant PGC elements, supporting tools/templates and suggested evidence for the teacher’s PGC portfolio, making it easier for everyone involved to understand what is expected throughout the year.
